Q - I already have AO installed on my computer. Do I still need to download the AO Demo before attending the class?

IDEC uses the most recent version of AO in the IDEC PLC and HMI classes. IDEC offers free upgrades on AO software. Please go to http://us.idec.com/Catalog/ProductFamily.aspx?FamilyName=Software to make sure you are using the current version and update files if needed.

Q - What are the IDEC part numbers included in the training package options?

A - Please see package options for a list of all IDEC part numbers included in the packages.

Q - Do you have special activities in the evenings after class?

A - IDEC does not have any activities scheduled after the training class. However, sometimes the trainers and attendees will go to dinner after a class. These are not sponsored by IDEC.

Q - Any special rates for hotel accommodations?

A - For most classes, IDEC will make arrangements with the venue to block rooms at a special rate. When you register, IDEC will send you a confirmation with details on your class that include any room discounts that may be offered. You can also contact training@idec.com if you need to know before you register.

Q - Do you provide meals while I attend the class?

A - IDEC provides AM snacks, coffee, tea and water, lunch, and PM snacks and beverages.

Q - Are there shuttle services available?

A - Some shuttle service may be available. Please contact training@idec.com.

Q - I registered with a package option and now I would like to change it to another package option that is better for me. How can I make this change?

Q - Do I get a certificate for attending the class?

A - Yes, after attending the 3-day training class you will receive a Certificate Of Completion of the Basic and Advanced PLC and HMI Programming.

Q - Can I pay by check or PO?

A - No, we only accept registration with Visa, American Express and Mastercard.

Q - Does the 3-day training come with the package options?

A - Yes, package options 1-5 all include the 3-day training.

Q - Is there online or video training available?

A - Currently, we do not offer online training classes. You can contact Tech Support or your local FSE for technical questions or training.

Q - When do we receive the training kit we ordered at registration?

A - The training kits are shipped out after you attend the 3-day training class.

Q - How do I change the shipping address for my training kit?

A - Please contact training@idec.com

Q - Does IDEC provide laptops for the training class?

A - IDEC provides all the training materials for the class except for laptops. You will need to bring you own laptop.

Course Outline

Training gives attendees an overview of IDEC PLCs and HMIs, gets them started using IDEC programming software and goes over specifics of how to best utilize PLC and HMI features including configurations, remote monitoring and control, and specific applications. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with our experts.
Day one of the Basic & Advanced PLC, Basic HMI course provides a basic overview of IDEC PLCs and SmartAXIS Touch. Day Two focuses on advanced IDEC PLC information. Day Three focuses on IDEC HMIs. Days one and two of the 3-day Advanced PLC & HMI course provides advanced IDEC PLC information, while Day three provides advanced IDEC HMI training.

What to bring

Attendees are responsible for bringing a personal laptop with the IDEC Automation Organizer software suite installed. A link to download this software will be provided after registration is complete.
